Baby Naming by Astrology & Numerology: Where Do You Even Start?

Most parents start naming their baby with a list of names they simply like the sound of. Astrology-based naming works differently — it starts with your baby's birth chart.

The first step is identifying the baby's nakshatra (birth star) and moon sign from their exact birth date, time and place. Each nakshatra has a set of syllables traditionally considered auspicious for names beginning with them.

The second step is numerology. Every name reduces to a number based on its letters, and that number is checked against the baby's birth number for compatibility — a name that 'sounds nice' but numerologically clashes is usually adjusted slightly rather than discarded entirely.

Many families also want the name connected to a specific deity or family tradition. This is layered in last, after the nakshatra syllable and numerology number are settled, so the final name honours tradition without working against the chart.

If you want this done for your baby, DM the exact date, time and place of birth — the more precise the birth time, the more accurate the nakshatra and moon sign reading will be.
